reading 3 les miserables
les miserables is a french phrase that means people who live outside or people who live in mistery. it worte by Victor Hugo's, who interested in social justice and concerned for those" miserable" people. except les miserables, the author also wrote several novels about The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Hernani which were pretty famous in nineteenth century.
the character of les miserables was Jean Valjean, who was sentenced into prison by he had stolen a bread for nineteeth years . when he releaved from prison to a small town with few of money, nobady wanted to give him any food to eat and a place that can sleep. on his way, he was continuously rejected because of his background --stole. while Valjean felt despiaringly, there appeared a kind old man, who usually afford his house for visitors. though the old man knew Valjean who people didn't like him and feared about him, he still invited Valjean to stay about his home for free. however, Valjean escaped and stole old man's candlesticks in the mid- night. as sooner, he was cought by polices and was sent to old man in the next following day. incredibly, old man told police that Valjean was innocency. Valjean was shocked by old man's kindness, and this experience made him to change his precious opinoin which he thought that there weren't kind people in the world. after that, he decided to become a good man that could help some people who need helps.
in the next biggest story, author depicted Valjean's following life how he tried to rescue poor people after he became rich. in the one of his case, he found a little girl- Cosette whom he promised a death mother that he would protect her... and he brought her up....
actually, i am still reading this book. there appeared a somehand and shy boy who was from a rich family, but had a broken heart for his grandfather. the shy boy met the little girl-Cosette (who had grown up and was 15 years old). also, the shy boy found out that he had already loved in her. however, there was a old man- Valjean allways stayed with the girl, the boy feared that...........

This story has become so famous, because of its broadway show, that I guess everyone knows it -- except me. I know the names of the characters, but I don;t really know what happened.
It comes from a time when writers in Europe were obsessed with the difference between rich and poor and issues of social justice. This is because of the industrial revolution, which was a cruel time to poor workers in the beginning. If you look at any of the books by Charles Dickens in the Nexus, you will see the same.
